Hi U17 families,

Thanks for your patience as we worked through the process to form a team for this coming summer. After an exhaustive search, we had to make the difficult decision to fold this team and release players who wish to pursue competitive opportunities. Repeated attempts to secure a head coach, a goalie, and a few additional runners have not come to fruition. The recovery from Covid continues to be challenging for certain age groups. Low registration numbers, and a lack of volunteers to carry this program forward ultimately lead to this painful decision. Below are a number of options the players and families impacted by this decision may be interested in exploring.
If you wanted to stay with NKMLA, we offer a Junior ‘C” program. Please contact Chris Hipwell, (chris@knightslacrosse.ca) our Junior “C” director for details and try-out dates.
The next closest center offering U17 competitive is Gloucester Lacrosse Association. It is my understanding that they have a couple of spots on their competitive team still open. Contact Stephanie Pagan (stephaniepagan@hotmail.com) for more details.
Should the GLA not have space, Cornwall Lacrosse Association is also looking to fill out their U17 competitive roster. Beth Pollock would be the contact at drbeth@drbethpollock.com
A final option might be U22 at Gloucester Lacrosse Association. The contact for this program is Dave Smith at glenda_dave@sympatico.ca
We appreciate your interest and wish you all the best as you sort through the options above.

Kind regards,
Al Brown President, NKMLA
