Update – 2020-04-13

We want to take a moment to express our sincerest thanks to you, our lacrosse family, who continue to use lacrosse as a beacon of positivity, by sharing videos and photos with us. Your viral videos & photos – old and new – have been an amazing addition to our social media feeds.

We also want to give a heartfelt thanks to our volunteers who have been working on alternative options that we can execute when the City of Ottawa and the Ontario Lacrosse Association tell us it’s safe to do so. While the season may look very different this year, we remain committed to doing all we can to get sticks in hands and bring everyone onto the floor when it’s safe for us to do so.

In the meantime, we know this is a time of hardship for many families and want to assure you full refunds will be issued if the season is cancelled. Should we be able to return to play within a limited season format, we will adjust fees accordingly and refund the difference. If these times are impacting your ability to pay fees please reach out to and we can discuss potential options.

While we wait for further direction, we want to encourage all of you to keep shooting, passing and playing wall ball where you safely can. We will be launching #KnightsAcademy this week to give you an opportunity to share your skills with our lacrosse family, so stay tuned for that, and we hope to see you online or in person very soon.
Yours in lacrosse,
The Knights Board of Directors

Update – 2020-03-30

We hope everyone is staying safe during these difficult times. While we do not have any specific news, we wanted to provide a brief update about the 2020 lacrosse season – our 50th Anniversary!

As of today, both the City of Ottawa and the Ontario Lacrosse Association have mandated closures up to April 5th . While there have been no official announcements to extend the shutdown, it is very likely that will happen. We will continue to take guidance from government authorities and the OLA in these matters
and we will pass along any updates when they come.

In the meantime, our executive is actively putting together contingency options for an adjusted season with various start dates so that we can be ready to move forward when we are able to do so. We will do everything we can to get our Knights playing lacrosse as long as we can provide a safe environment to do so. We certainly enjoy watching them play as much as you do! However, if the shutdown makes it necessary to cancel the season we will certainly provide families with a full refund of their registration fees.

Please let us know if you have any questions and we’ll do our best to answer.

Keep up the wall ball and posting your pics!

Update – 2020-03-18

The number one question hitting our mailbox and social media right now is “When will we know when the season will start?” The short answer right now is, we don’t know.

The health & safety of our lacrosse family is incredibly important to us. As such, we are waiting on guidance from government officials, the local health unit & the Ontario Lacrosse Association before we kick off our season.

Our volunteers are hopeful that the season will start, and as such tryouts are tentatively scheduled to start the week of April 6th & house league sortouts are being planned as well. We hope that everyone understands they are subject to change based on health, safety & facility availability.

We are extremely hopeful that the season will start as scheduled but until then play some wall ball, work on those cradles, and we’ll see you soon.

~~ The Knights Executive

Update from the Ontario Lacrosse Association on March 13 2020 is below.

As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to make headlines both here in Ontario and around the world, our hearts go out to those affected. We want everyone to know that they are part of the Ontario lacrosse community, and that we care about your health and safety above all else.

We are closely following news reports and monitoring the impact that this situation is having across the province. Because we live and work in the amateur sports community, we understand the concerns raised by our members, especially considering the rising number of postponed events, programs and educational opportunities throughout the province. With the ongoing developments related to COVID-19 and the concerns that people are sharing over its transmission, it’s important that we all work together to prevent and eradicate it as quickly as possible.

Although the Public Health Agency of Canada maintains that the risk associated with contracting COVID-19 is low for Canadian citizens, the situation remains fluid and could change day-to-day. As of today, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to direct our leagues to pause all sanctioned in-person lacrosse activities (try-outs, training sessions, scrimmages, practices, games, etc.) effective immediately and until April 5th, 2020. Online activities, including promotion, registration and planning may continue during this period. In the meantime, we intend to continue preparing for the upcoming season while monitoring the situation. We encourage our members to visit for the latest news, updates and return-to-program information as we approach the 2020 season.

Up-to-date risk assessment information and other resources published by the Canadian government related to COVID-19 can be found here. The Ontario Lacrosse Association reminds everyone to consider good hygienic practices and safe contact in order to maintain a healthy environment. We are grateful for your understanding and your desire to begin the 2020 season as soon as it is safe to do so. Keep your sticks in your hands; we’ll be back soon.
