2012 Registration Information

Knights registration dates will be as follows at bottom of page. Note to competitive players intending to try out for Team Ontario teams, you must register in one of the first two registrations in order to have your player card registered with the OLA in time for the tryouts. Due to the problems with team selections and scheduling, no requests will be taken to play on a particular team or coach.

Please note, all players attending Team 1 competitive tryouts are required to pay $20 tryout fee. This fee must be paid by cash or cheque (payable to NKMLA) when you register at the tryout sessions

A note for those players intending to tryout for OLA provincial teams – you must register in the first or second registration date in order to have your OLA player card registered with the OLA in time for the tryouts. Uncarded players will not be allowed to tryout.

Competitive Team-1/2 Players

Based on the positive feedback from the previous seasons, and in response to concerns regarding competitive and house league player development, burnout, and over-scheduling, Nepean Knights have decided, that the players on the Novice to Midget Teams-1/2 competitive teams with the exception of Tyke 2 and Girls will not play in the House League Program.

Once again this year, we are pleased to have Hy-Gard at our registrations to offer on-site custom made mouthguards. Please visit their website by clicking on the link on the right for more details on their service.

House League

About the House League Program

The Knights Lacrosse Association offers all players the chance to participate in the Association’s House League program. This program allows all players to practice and play against players of their own age and skill level from the ages of 4 to 21. The emphasis is on learning and creating a positive, fun atmosphere. The program is divided almost equally between action-packed games and skill-developing practices. A regular season is followed by an exciting playoff season.

The Association promotes a code of conduct to ensure that all players, coaches and referees are treated with respect.

Peanut and Paperweights

The Peanut / Paperweight lacrosse program begins Saturday, TBD at TBD Arena. The program will run between the hours of 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and parents will be receiving an email this week detailing the specific floor time your player will attend. The Peanut / Paperweight lacrosse program will run at Bell Arena on Saturday mornings for the remainder of the season (up to the end of the school year).

What nights does each level play on?

In general, each age group plays on the following days, but may play on alternate days depending on number of teams a floor time availability

  • Peanut/Paperweight — Saturday mornings
  • Tyke — Saturdays and Wednesdays (sometimes Mondays)
  • Novice — Mondays and Wednesdays
  • PeeWee — Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Bantam — Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Midget — Mondays and Wednesdays (sometimes Saturday)
  • Intermediate — Sunday evenings

Games and practices are scheduled on other days of the week (weekends mostly) not mentioned above, but the Association tries to adhere to the above noted days, except during playoffs. Playoffs are run in a "tournament-format" over the last two weeks of the season. This requires a large number of games in a relatively short period and therefore scheduling may take place on any day of the week, including weekends.
