Nepean ON – April 1st, 2018 – Nepean Lacrosse, one of the OLA’s most recognizable brands, unveiled the evolution of its brand identity, including a modernized and simplified update to its iconic red and yellow logo and new look and feel for branded communications and experiences.
Having gone through hours of consultation with high profile design firms, Nepean Minor Lacrosse voted unanimously to select the “Herring Can” logo with fresh and modern font styling, as well as the new name “Nepean Red Herring”
The ability to thrive in a digital age as well as position Nepean Minor Lacrosse as a forward-thinking and family focused association, is fundamental to this change. Also, the fact that the logo is only one colour is expected to save the association thousands in printing costs going forward.
“Nepean Lacrosse has grown it’s social media presence significantly over the last few years,” said Krista Swanson. “To showcase our sport in a digital world where our families share content faster than ever, we want to modernize and elevate the brand in a design that is simple and elegant, yet unquestionably lacrosse family focused.”
“We’ve been on a fantastic trajectory, with digital technology being an increasingly important part of our association,” Swanson added, “Now it’s time for our brand to embody how we spend our summers – crammed in the back seat of a vehicle with a bunch our teamates, next to bags that smell like dirty socks.”
The new logo and association name will be rolled out on all association communications, starting with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. New jerseys will be printed beginning next season.
