Field Lacrosse
Welcome to Knight’s Field Lacrosse.
Field Lacrosse is an exciting game played outside on the soccer pitch. There are two formats, 10-on-10 for the older boys and girls which is played on the full field, or 7-on-7 for younger players which is played on a smaller pitch. Field Lacrosse is a great game for a runner. With less contact and equipment than Box Lacrosse, Field is an exciting, high-paced game with lots of flow.
Fall 2012 Field Lacrosse Program
We are excited to introduce a new format for Fall Field Lacrosse in 2012. This is a result of complying with OLA rules and an effort to improve the existing format. Through collaborative efforts of all field and box associations from Kingston to Montreal, the Eastern Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse House League has emerged. Administered by the Ottawa Nemesis Minor Field Lacrosse Club (member of the Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse League – OMFLL) and through guidance provided by a Steering Committee comprised of representatives from local box and field associations, this Network will realize a formal house league structure focussing on skill development combined with game play.
The goals of this Network of associations are:
to extend the box lacrosse season by keeping sticks in the hands of players for an additional three months;
to develop field lacrosse skills of Eastern Ontario, Gatineau and Montreal area players;
to grow the sport of field lacrosse in Eastern Ontario, Gatineau and Montreal areas;
to provide continued development of high school players;
to provide exposure to field lacrosse for those players who do not have access to a high school team.
The season will commence mid-August and end in November 2012.
All players will be registered under the Nemesis Minor Field Lacrosse Club number through their local box or field lacrosse association. Collaboratively, players will be recruited from Kingston to Ottawa/Gatineau, through to Montreal area and form a centralized house league. Areas with sufficient players may share players so that balanced teams can be established. The House League will include teams at each of the following grade levels. 3 – 4, 5 – 6, 7 – 8, 9 – 10, 11 – 12
